Nikon tops the charts at Gear of the Year Awards

Nikon made an almost clean sweep at this year’s Gear of the Year Awards, now in its 23rd year.

The awards ceremony was held at London’s Century Club, and hosted by Bauer Publishing’s Practical Photography and Digital Photo magazines.

Voted for by a panel of the magazines’ editors and reviewers as well as experts from a few key retailers, Nikon took home five of the 11 product and manufacturer awards up for grabs:

Manufacturer of the Year

Best Pro DSLR - D3

Best Advanced DSLR - D300

Best Accessory - SB 900

Product of the Year - D3

Jeremy Gilbert, Group Marketing Manager, Nikon UK, said: “We’re really proud of our wins at the Gear of the Year awards and are delighted with the positive response our products are getting, both from retailers and consumers. Although the products speak for themselves in terms of quality and performance, it’s great to see confirmed confidence in the Nikon brand again.”

Following the launch of the D3 last year, which shifted the goal posts on the world of DSLR photography, Nikon has had a busy year with the launch of the D60, the D700 and the D90. With such a lot of interest in the current range of products, and with Photokina, the world’s largest imaging fair, just around the corner, we are expecting the Nikon stand to be very busy!
